Part-time Bookkeeping Assistant (Xero) for Australian Small Businesses

A Melbourne bookkeeping practice looks after about 25 small-business clients (trades, cafés, allied health). They need a careful, detail-oriented assistant in Nepal to handle the routine Xero work so the Australian BAS agent can focus on review and client advice.

Daily and weekly tasks

• Bank reconciliation in Xero, coding transactions against the chart of accounts and rules
• Entering supplier bills and receipts from Hubdoc or Dext, matching to payments
• Accounts receivable follow-up: issuing invoices from templates and sending polite reminder emails
• Preparing payroll data for review (timesheets to Xero Payroll, no lodgement)
• Monthly checklists and flagging anything unusual for the BAS agent

Requirements

• Accounting or commerce background with at least one year of hands-on Xero experience (Xero Advisor certification preferred)
• Understanding of Australian GST coding (GST on income, GST free, BAS excluded) or willingness to learn quickly with our guide
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and very accurate data entry
• Available roughly 15 hours per week, with at least two hours per day overlapping 9am to 5pm AEST
• Comfortable signing a confidentiality agreement; you will be working in client files

Rate: around AUD 10 to 12 per hour depending on experience, paid fortnightly through GigNepal. Long-term role with hours increasing as you take on more clients.
